According to Stove, César Franck: His Life and Times, p.302, went on sale in December 1892 (posthumously). Dates of composition for the chorals from Smith, Playing the Organ Works of César Franck, p.209. (According to Smith, the dedicatees' names do not appear on the manuscript, leading to claims by d'Indy and others that the first publisher, Durand was mistaken in attributing the dedications as given; Léon Vallas claimed that this was the doing of Franck's son Georges.)
