Dear Cellars, Do you have Leslie Howard's permission to post the completion of the Sonata-Allegro? Unless you do, we will be deleting this very shortly. Please read our guidelines for contributors carefully. Completions fall under the same rules as an original work: Life of the completion's author plus 50 years in Canada. Submission guidelines

Dear cellars. May I recommend you to read carefully the submission guidelines ? In particular, the section "1. Verifying copyright status". Your last submissions are not PD. For example, the sonata op. 7 by Czerny will be deleted soon, as it is a fresh 1971 edition. If your are not sure about the copyright status of score you plan to submit, a very convenient section (called "Copyright Status Requests") has been set up in the forum from where you will get precious advices. Regards, Matthieu

Addendum: Variations on a Theme by Rode op. 33, non-PD either.

Dear Cellars, Samuel Feinberg's output is most likely copyrighted, so please do not submit any more of his works. Like Matthieu explained, please visit the public domain page, and observe that a work is protected for 50 years after the death of the composer or arranger (if any), whichever dies last. Feinberg died less than 50 years ago, therefore his entire output is copyrighted. Thanks! --Feldmahler 09:46, 12 August 2008 (EDT)

Dear Cellars, To repeat what has been stated above, please carefully read our guidelines before submitting things. The Czerny Op.144 you just uploaded is a 2004 Urtext edition. This will have to be deleted immediately. Only urtext editions published before 1983 are allowed here (before 1990 if published in the USSR). Also, please include the page count and publisher information whenever possible since it makes the copyright review process simpler. Carolus 01:44, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

Dear Cellars,

Thank you for your submission. The upload was successful, but you did not provide enough source and publisher information. Can we kindly ask you to fill in as much information as possible? Correct identification of a score is absolutely needed to make sure a score is in public domain and does not violate copyright laws. Also, this identification reflects IMSLP's strive to quality and completeness.

Please pay attention to the following items:

  • Scanner:This field should include the name of the scanner, or the website where the file was obtained.
  • Editor: The person who edited the score. This is not always known, usually the editor is printed on top of the first page (e.g. edited by... ; in french revue par... or éditée par...; in German bearbeitet von...). This field can concern the original editor, and in case of a typesetted score, the typesetter.
  • Publisher Information: You can find publisher information usually on the bottom of the first pages of the score. The format for this field is as follows: "<Place>: <Publisher Company>, No. <Publisher's publication number>, <Date>. Plate <Plate number>."

More fields are described in the Score submission guide.

You will find a lot of information on the first pages of the score. If you have problems gaining information, more tips and help are provided at IMSLP:Contributing scores and Historical Publication Info. An example of a good submission is Frühlingsrauschen (Sinding, Christian)

Dear Cellars, Please read our guidelines for contributors. The Czerny title you just uploaded was a 1997 edition and had to be deleted. This is the second time we've had to warn you about uploading copyrighted items. Also, please do not add superfluous pages and please use the format we employ for titles.
