Hi folks -

I'm a theoretical physicist. I'm also a serious pianist, and occasionally do some composing. I'm particularly interested in seeing that obscure piano and chamber music be made available online.

horn music?

For a serious pianist you've added a couple horn pieces to the wishlist. Do you also happen to play horn? Horndude77 22:05, 26 July 2006 (CDT)

No, I don't play the horn. But with only three keys, how difficult can it be?  ;) I just find myself listening to a lot of horn music recently, and I'd like to play through the scores. Physicist 20:26, 27 July 2006 (CDT)

Alexandrov

Unfortunately, I will have to remove even the 3rd Piano Sonata... apparently the file itself does say "1924", and the attribution of 1922 by Sibley seems to have been a mistake (see this thread). This is unfortunate, but has to be done. It would be nice if someone could get a hold of Alexandrov's current copyright holders (his descendants I assume?) and ask for permission; after all, it might not be impossible, since his work is not yet very well known, and could use some publicity. But as it is, I have to remove it first at least... --Feldmahler 00:11, 16 February 2007 (EST)

Glazunov Symphony No.8

Thank you for the correction! :) I must have been half asleep when I submitted the file haha... --Feldmahler 12:29, 27 February 2007 (EST)

hey

hey, physicist! i'm a piano student and a pysics student =)

i'm coursing the physics graduation course in the UFRJ taam

reply

Well, since I was a child I always loved particles physics. I'm thinking about to course medical physics at graduation and particle physics at pos-graduation, because medical physics has a larger application(new area, more jobs). Music is my passion, I play piano since I was 8(now I'm 17... almost 18), I wanted do be a concert pianist but... well, I can do both things. Do you like Martha Argerich? So, please, talk about you!

p.s.: UFRJ: www.ufrj.br taam Quantum, eh? Well... I don't like very much the quantum theory. I mean: how can someone sleep at night knowing that the particle passed by 2 slits? I like particle physics(and quantum chromodynamics), because they are beautiful. I love beautiful things... (that remembers me the Large Hadron Collider beauty, hahaha) I've just watched a seminary by Prof. Takeshi Kodama about QGP, and that was just beautiful!

sans titre

Well, about music... I'm not very regular(a little bit of indiscipline, I have to admit) with my piano studies, and the university is spending most of my time(internet also, hehehe). Now I had an attack and decided myself to begin my studies from the 0. It means: start with that marvelous exercises for articulation, fingers independence, sonority, blablabla. There are some(poor) videos of my playing in youtube, if you're a bit masochist: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=meneltar (the page design is awful)

P.S.: You didn't say anything about Martha Argerich!

Well, I have to study now. See you! Taam 14:57, 29 May 2007 (EDT)

Physicist, what's your email address? Evidently you didn't set one in your profile or elected not to receive emails from other members. Daphnis 12:56, 18 June 2007 (EDT)

Die Lorelei, first transcript (S.531/1)

Hi Physicist! I have a piano transcription of the first version, the score is not PD so I can't upload it here but if you provide me with an e-mail I could send it to you. --Funper talk 22:23, 18 June 2007 (EDT)

MIT Project

Hi Physicist, I see that it's been nearly a month since you've done any contributions on the MIT project. Are you still planning on finishing the letter B or can someone else go ahead and take over? Let me know; if I don't hear anything back in a few days I'll go ahead and start on it so we can hopefully finish up the project pretty soon.Mcroskell 18:41, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

CPE Bach pieces

Hi. I have corrected all of your uploads for pieces by CPE Bach to belong to the Classical period. CPE Bach is generally considered to be a Classical period composer, and even here at IMSLP, the composer is a subcategory of "Classical composers". I understand that he is a transitional figure between the Baroque and Classical periods, and it all depends on whether his works were composed earlier or later in his career. I would assume that his earlier works have more Baroque elements than his later ones. But although Domenico Scarlatti, born 29 years before CPE Bach, lived mostly during the Baroque period, he composed at least a huge chunk of his sonatas in an early Classical style. I hope this helps. BTW, I also desire to become a physicist like you are, as I plan to study astronomy, chemistry, and physics in the near future. Marcus2 13:50, 24 August 2007 (EDT)

You mentioned an interest in becoming a copyright reviewer. You can find more info at IMSLP:Copyright Reviewers, and a link to the test.-- Snailey Talk to Me Email me 20:47, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

CPE Bach Sonata in F major

Hi Physicist

you have uploaded Sonata_in_F_major_(Bach,_Carl_Philipp_Emanuel) but you didn't add the Wq oder H number. I couldn't find the file in my Wq work list from Wotquenne. Do you have more infos or can you tell me where to get more infos (Source of the file)?.

Thanks in advance. --TobisNotenarchiv 16:37, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
