Misc. Comments
According to the notes, by Johannes Gebauer, for the Camesina Quartett recording of Dussek's 3 quartets, these were written -in- the year 1806 (not what is implied by a publication in ca.1805). Evidence of two letters by Dussek is given (one of 1 October 1806 to Breitkopf und Härtel, another, excerpted in the notes, of three days later in which he stated that he wished them to appear early in 1807. Whether this came to pass I do not know. (Schissel)
