Nos. 1 and 2 were noted down in October 1835 (datebook 2, p18) (though published by May 1835?) in Hiller's datebook. Either he revised them or forgot to note them down at the time of composition, or HMB's date system doesn't work the way we sometimes suppose it does quite exactly (which is an answer I often suppose) and May 1835 HMB does not actually appear _in_ May 1835, so that appearance in May 1835 HMB does not imply (in the strict sense of imply) publication or even composition by May 1835- but- ?... ah well. - ELS
