NDA - Nube de Alas (Cloud of Winds) (1986) Who has not seen and listened to a cloud of wings when a flock of birds flying around us as they wrap us under the blue country sky? A cloud of wings with internal movement that has volume and shape: chains, spirals, waves and if we observe closely, micro-celular forms that become “audio-visual”, forms that are alike to DNA (hence the initials of the title), biological structures that reproduce either towards the micro or the microcosms. The musical objective of this “electronic” piece is to use the modulated frequency technique (FM), that appeared in the mid-80’s as a new way of producing sounds. Displacing the “old” analogic technique, “digital” synthesizers type DX7 appeared, and with this new monophonic synthesizer this work is almost entirely made.
