||Ah peccatores graves
|Composer Time Period
||6 voices, strings, continuo
||This particular edition has the following instrumental designations:
- While the title specifically says "6 stromenti", the score indicates "violino e flauto I", "violino e flauto II", "viola e flauto I", "viola e flauto II". The "e" instead of "o" indicates "and" and not "or". This would make it more than 6 instruments. Further, he later specifies "violin" and "viola", in other words, strings alone with no flutes, and after that specifies "flauto I" etc. for all 4 top parts, in other words, strings drop out and flutes play. This would make the instrumentation 2 violins, 2 violas, 4 flutes.
- The bass parts are designated as follows: "violon", "spinetto overo viola da gamba", "B.C.".
- Grove Music lists the instrumentation as: "SSATTB, 2 vn, 2 va, bc".
