typical post-takeover Wagner cover (1870s)

This Dresden firm existed by 1830 (according to Hofmeister's Monatsberichte) and was acquired by Adolph Fürstner in 1872 (See Hofmeister's Handbuch (1876), after which there apparently existed two companies: C.F. Meser (Adolph Fürstner) in Dresden and C.F. Meser in Berlin. The company published mainly songs, piano pieces, and many cello pieces by Friedrich August Kummer. It also published the first editions of Richard Wagner's early operas Rienzi, Der fliegende Holländer, and Tannhäuser.

It appears at some point (by 1867) Meser acquired the publisher Herm. Müller.
