Original instrumentation has been listed as continuo because Grove's lists his violin sonatas as using continuo, though the Grove list isn't extensive enough to include any cello sonatas. However, Francoeur lived until 1787, so there is a possibility that this could have been for piano. Similarly, since Francoeur was born in 1698, the style is likely to contain elements of Baroque.
