Misc. Comments
Except for the Chanson Hébraïque, which was published separately in 1909, these song-settings were first published in a collection with harmonizations by three composers entitled Sept Chants Populaires by P. Jurgenson, Moscow, in 1910. The contents of that collection were:
Georges Alexandre (1850-1938), arranger
1. Chanson Flamande (XV siècle)
2. Chanson Écossaise (Burns)
Alexander Olenin (1865-1944), arranger
3. Chanson Russe
Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), arranger
4. Chanson Espagnole
5. Chanson Française (Limousin)
6. Mélodie Italienne (Romaine)
7. Chanson Hébraïque
Durand issued the four Ravel settings separately in 1925.
