David's Arrangement
Ferdinand David's attribution of this work to Vitali was until recently considered to be a "musical hoax". See Wikipedia pages for Musical hoax. The work was first published in David's arrangement as part of his 1867 series, Die hohe Schule des Violinspiels, which popularized it.
