"basso" in 18th century usually = cello (though this can depend on context; sometimes = accompanying cello (e.g. duets for cello & basso), sometimes can be double bass (though somewhat rare to see that outside of orchestral situations and not in unison w/cello (except of course for bass concertos); a few cases of continuo (but usually figured?...) - this cello part does not go below low E and might be playable on bass (though with a concomitant change in octave-range texture, that is, let the performers know what they are doing - one can but hope faintly this goes without saying, though it does not...)
