History

This firm published books in Chemnitz, Saxony. Its place in history is due to its publication of many of Friedrich Nietzsche's works, including Also Sprach Zarathustra (1883). Nietzsche's musical works were published by E.W. Fritzsch of Leipzig. Another music-related item was Richard Wagners Der Ring des Nibelungen; ein exegitischer Versuch by Otto Eiser. Incidentally, Chemnitz's main musical contribution was the famous drinking song Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit (Eins, Zwei, Drei – Gsuffa!) by the local composer Bernhard Dietrich (1840–1902).
