Misc. Comments

  • This piece is found in two sources: Casanatense 2856, where it is ascribed to Martini, and the Segovia Codex, where it is credited to Isaac. Martini is the more likely source, as Segovia, copied in Spain about 20 years after 2856, features ascriptions often not reliable, while 2856 was compiled in northern Italy during the time Martini lived and worked there.
  • In neither source are any of the parts texted; the bottom 3 parts are more idiomatically instrumental.
