The "viola" parts are likely for a consort of viols, considering the mixture of clefs used (sop, sop, alt, ten), and the ranges of the parts. At this time, the term "viola" was commonly used for both instruments of the viol family and the viola da braccia.

The role of the ripieno voices is exclusively to reinforce the five solo voices at various points. The direction "ut vocant" (as they call) on the tile page could be taken to mean ad libitum. This obviously indicates the use of a choir.

The continuo part is labelled "bassus pro organo". It is not a fully written-out organ, but a bass part with figures. Of course, it could be reinforced with a bowed bass instrument (violone would fit with the viol consort) and/or some additional chordal instruments.
