Misc. Comments

  • Because the first performance of this was at the Ospedale della Pietà, all the roles and chorus are female.
  • Initially, the chalumeaux parts may have been played by either the recorder or oboe players.
  • Despite the Wikipedia article not mentioning clarinets, there are two in 'Plena nectare non mero', the Assyrian soldiers' chorus. The chalumeau part is a single part, and it is in 'Veni, me sequere fida'.
