Misc. Comments

Grove Music lists these two as having been published separately as piano pieces. It seems to have been Herman who put them together in the arrangement for violin and piano. L'Angélus, "petit morceau très facile", was composed in 1858 for piano 4-hands, and Les pifferari (Gounod, Charles), "impromptu très facile", was composed in 1861 for piano solo.
