Misc. Comments

  • This aria and recitativo comes from Nicola Conforto's opera Le Cinesi, performed in Madrid in 1751 as Festa cinese. This probably is the only part Broschi wrote.
  • IMSLP does not currently have the rest of the opera, but if we eventually do get it uploaded, a link needs to be made between this page and that one.
  • The vocal part is in C clef. Carlo Broschi's more familiar name is Farinelli, probably the most famed castrato in history. One can perhaps assume the recitive and aria was written for himself.
