|Work Title||Lockvogel Polka|
|First Publication.||1879 – New York: Edward Schuberth & Co.|
|Composer Time PeriodComp. Period||Romantic|
|Instrumentation||Flute, cornet, 2 violins, double bass or full orchestra (Piccolo, Flute, 2 oboes, clarinets in D and C, 2 bassoons, 4 horns in F, 2 trumpets in F, 3 trombones, percussion (large and small drums), strings)|
May well be based on music from the 1863 "Lustspiel in 1 Akt" "Der Lockvogel, oder : Dieses Landhaus ist zu verkaufen!" by Heinrich Böie.
Hrm. A contemporary (apparently also 1879?) scan (published by Schuberth also, but apparently not typeset?) at LoC (containing both this polka and the Greetings to America March) has a much larger orchestral complement than this quintet.
