  • The attribution to Josquin is considered doubtful, as it only appears in the Attaignant print, and Attaignant's attributions are not considered the most reliable. The piece was left out entirely of the New Josquin Edition. See New Grove or NJE vol. 1 for more details.
  • Another anonymous Cueuer Desolez, in 5 parts, appears in Brussels MS 228, which is sometimes attributed to Josquin based on rather tenuous connection with the cantus firmus.
