Misc. Comments

  • Corrupt French text transmitted. Raulin is probably not the same person as Roelkin, for the stylistic differences and the lack of a common manuscript tradition. See also the critical comment on Roelkin's Et trop penser.
  • According to Grove Music, Raulin is "known from the ascriptions of three songs in a Florentine manuscript (I-Fn Magl.XIX.176): a four-part setting of the monophonic song Je suis trop jeunette (ed. in MRM, ii, 1967) and the three-voice virelais Veu que tant (also in F-Pn fr.15123) and En elle croi." Grove gives other possible works written by him, which are included in IMSLP under the composer's name Roelkin.
