The table of contents for Vox Organi Vol.2 lists the composer of this piece as "John J. O'Shea, Jr., Boston, Mass." The first page of the sheet music lists "John A. O'Shea." In the April 4, 1896 issue of The Syracuse Courier appears an article entitled Easter Music in the City Churches in which is listed as being performed at Plymouth Church: "Organ Offertoire in E....John A. O'Shea".
