Misc. Comments
See also Overture di Ballo on Wikipedia. (Published score was cut, two passages deleted by the composer; to quote the Wikipedia article, "Most performances in concert or on record use the shorter version, but the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company's 1992 recording uses the uncut text" which was published in the 1980s.) The TER recording of the complete overture is 13 1/2 minutes as against an average of 10 1/2 for recordings of the 1889 version.
