Re Eberhard: fl.1875–fl.1899 ; a letter from him to Giuseppe Ferrata from mid-1899 is recorded in Eanes' biography of the latter composer, hence the tentative 1899 fl. date... will seek to extend in both directions. The Conservatory was apparently incorporated or dissolved into something else in 1884 by decision of the state legislature. Had a publishing house at least in the 1880s apparently (E. Eberhard of New York) (if this was his... guessing so? Starting in or before 1881 when he was still at the conservatory.) - Schissel
