  • According to someone, this song would only have been notated and arranged by T. Cottrau.
  • The 1849 edition has only the Neapolitan lyrics: after translated into Italian this piece was widely much appreciated.
  • "Santa Lucia" in the title doesn't refer to the saint, but to a borough of Naples, much close to the sea side: its name comes from saint Lucy's church, built in the same borough.
