Misc. Comments

This Sonata is attributed to Krause in D-Bsa: SA 3540 and Hasse in D-Bsa: SA 2234. A third source for the Sonata in Skma does not give a composer's name. The Hasse version is not mentioned in Haynes, as it is in a version for flute. Mentioned in Breitkopf's catalogue of 1765 as a work by Krause. Krause 2 : Hasse 1.

Künau: A certain J. Kuhnau, as one knows, was (estimating from Wikipedia article...) a member of the Dresden chorus and otherwise a student in Dresden between ca.1669 and 1680, after which he moved to Zittau, and later, to Leipzig (1701 to his death in 1722)... perhaps he did some copying work then too. Do we have an even vaguely estimated date on the Künau copy? - ES (Possible if Krause wrote this before the age of 3. - TW)
