This part, adressed to Ysaÿe, was the number 2 of 5 (not for sale) for him and some friends of his.
A great work, it is of the same inspiration and quality than the 6 solo sonatas for violin (Ysaÿe, besides playing violin and viola, could also do something with the cello!)... It should be part of the general stock of any good cellist just like the violin sonatas are part of the violinists stock.
A great work, just of the same vein as the 6 solo sonatas for violin.
