Navigation etc.

Nos. 1-6 are labelled "à 3", suggesting that there should be three instruments + continuo, however the title page states "con la terza parte della Viola beneplacito" (ie. with the third part on the viola, ad lib.). The third part book is labelled "organo et basso di viola insieme" (ie. organ and bass viola (violone/bass violin) together), which contains only one bass part with figures. Since the bass viola acts as a continuo instrument, playing from the same part as the basso/organ, nos.1-6 are essentially scored for 2 violins and continuo.
