- Unvollendet according to premiere recording of work (Signum, 2010, with Quartet 1 in A of 1878. That is: Incomplete.)
- First publication of Thuille's manuscript quartets seems to have been around 1998 or perhaps somewhat earlier as I recall, so these may only be PD-EU if I am guessing and remembering right.- Schissel
- If this incomplete, unperformed quartet was not published until 1998, it would not be public domain in the EU (less than 25 years), or even Canada (not performed or delivered in composer's lifetime), or USA. I am therfore tagging it N/N/N for now but plan to delete it unless someone can come up with a reason it is not protected under editio princeps. Carolus 04:13, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Manuscript's appearance as public scan at BSB (admittedly, with their conditions) suggests that the work may be PD-EU, at least. Have attempted to start a discussion of this and similar issues (incl. also a few questionable Huré pieces) in the forums. Eric 22:09, 8 October 2011 (UTC) (I should say -probably- incomplete, since it ends with a slow movement in C major. I include a lengthy description of the other early quartet, in A major, in my little article here, but in neither case do I know anything about any premiere date- though the preface to the edited score, based on the BSB manuscript, may contain that information if the editor was somehow able to turn that up. I am guessing they are both apprentice works, but possibly performed if not necessarily professionally so.)
