HMB lists no publication of a version with any sort of orchestral accompaniment (even arranged by someone else!) before 1901 in a quick search at least so presumably this really is a work for violin and piano. Of course, ‘concertos’ for solo or chamber forces are as old or older than JS Bach (as symphonies for solo piano, e.g., older than Alkan...) - the concerto idea applied to a different context. still, will hold off on tagging until a biography of Seitz can be found...-Schissel
