Talk:Chant des timoniers, Op.1 (Jean, François-Xavier)

The songs appearing in the monumental "Chant des timoniers, Op.1" blaze with so many different musical influences: free fugue, jazz, chinoiserie...all infused in sweeping & breathtaking chansons, verging on the inception of the intention that the humble chant can be altered and manipulated into one's own perception. A tour de force, for certain. Jean's genius lies in extracting influences from his retentive memory from travelling to the North Countries, as he calls them: Denmark, Canada, etc.--and then pouring them out though maths and harmonic progressions, whose modal clarity and resilience approaches sublimity.
