Talk:Danserye - Basse Dances (Susato, Tielman)

Danserye has about 50 pieces. I wonder if each dance should have a separate work page. It is already getting a bit unweildy because each dance also needs two sets of clefs for strings and wind. MartinY 10:47, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

There are 13 Basse Dances, which is probably manageable on a single page. According to my reference here, there were 9 Ronden, a single Saltarelle, 6 Branles, 8 Allemaingien, 7 Pavanen and 15 Gaillarden (plus a Partridge and a Pear Tree, I suppose). Breaking the whole work up into 59 separate pages is probably too much, but if we have enough arrangements and orchestrations it might have to be done (there have been quite a few as this set has become fairly popular in the past 30-40 years). For now, I'm moving the Basse Dances to a single page. Carolus 07:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. This is a good solution. I will start adding more Basse Dances now. MartinY 09:17, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
