Talk:Der getreue Music-Meister (Telemann, Georg Philipp)

There is a recording that contains some of these works, among others, by Franz Br├╝ggen on Teldec Das Alte Werk. Disqualified from mentioning in the recordings section, or perhaps doesn't work that way? Not sure. (Of course, since I have that recording, glad to be able to download some of the scores :) ) Eric 08:24, 12 July 2008 (EDT)

Does anyone think that it would be more useful to split this page into several, since there are various works included in it? KGill talk email 22:57, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

I think, we shouldn't. Telemann published these compositions as a collection under this title, and they are well known today in this form. Nobody has an idea of a "Recorder Sonata TWV 41: C2" (Telemann composed some hundreds of Sonatas, and modern publishers confused it by transposing them for other instruments or by giving fantasy numbers to it). The "Recorder sonata in C from the Getreue Music-Meister" is well known. If we get a facsimile of the original print one day, we would have a lot of work to split it, because any sonata appears movement for movement, mixed with the single movements of other sonatas. Cf our facsimile of the viola da gamba sonata: this are the pages 93 and 97 of the original print, and it is only a coincidence, that there aren't parts of other works on this pages.
