This 'Concerto in Paschalis Festum' (subtitle) has originally been written in C major "and contains the vocal part in alto with the range from the small e till the once-marked a. This corresponds with the male alto usual at that time, but not with the woman alto nowadays..." (from the English preface, 1927). The editor transposed it to B♭ major, so it can easily performed by a tenor or a soprano.
The instrumentation of the piece in this edition is:
1 voice (or chorus unisono), 2 violins and basso continuo.
The continuo realization is by the editor, all further editorial additions are printed in brackets. --Ralph Theo Misch 20:16, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
