Talk:Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90 (Wagner, Richard)

This work is kind of diffucult to place under a correct title. Isoldes Liebestod is an extract from Wagner's Opera Tristan und Isolde; and the transcription is made by Franz Liszt. This is a work by Franz Liszt, and is designated S447 by Searle.

So, the options are:

  • Keep as is: Isoldens Liebestod (Wagner)
  • Change to: Tristan und Isolde (Wagner) with more info in the file
  • Change to: Isoldens Liebestod S447 (Liszt)

The last option is the best, and the least confusing. In literature, transcriptions are almost always catalogised under the transcriptor.

N.B. There was still a spelling error, the correct title is Isoldens Liebestod.

Isoldes Liebestod correction

Thanks for pointing that out Peter.

I mistakenly assumed that it would be possible to link more than one page to the same PDF file. I will request that an admin move it to the Liszt page where it would be more appropriate. --Sphemusator 13:20, 22 June 2006 (CDT)

Edit: Err... should have edited after reading the forums... --Feldmahler 23:18, 25 June 2006 (CDT)

Cleanup finished. Now the file is on both Wagner and Liszt pages. --Feldmahler 03:17, 30 June 2006 (CDT)
