Talk:Tioga Waltz (Foster, Stephen)

Does anyone know if this version was composed by Stephen Foster or was it posthumously arranged by another person? I did some research and found out that Foster composed the waltz at a very young age for four flutes, not for one piano.

Any comments would be nice.

Thank you.

GO ATHENS!!!

This piece was Foster's first composition and he wrote it while attending, 1940-41, the Athens Academy in Athens, PA. I should know... I live here. We actually have one of the original copies of the Tioga in the church next to my piano teacher. I have also heard that it was originally written for four flutes but the copy in the church here is written for piano so possibly he arranged that himself.
