Template:LinkWork

This template displays the title (in italics), opus/catalogue number and (optionally) the composer's name in normal lingustic order, while simultaneously linking the title to the work page, and the composer's name to the composer’s category page.

Usage example:

{{LinkWork|Symphony No.5|Op.67|Beethoven|Ludwig van}}

will display:

Symphony No.5, Op.67, by Ludwig van Beethoven

The title, opus/catalogue number and composer's name must use the same punctuation, spelling and capitalisation as the page title for that work.

Works without an opus/catalogue number with their title can be linked like this:

{{LinkWork|The Maid of Orleans||Tchaikovsky|Pyotr}}

which displays:

The Maid of Orleans by Pyotr Tchaikovsky

Special Options

Surname Only

By default the composer's full name is used, but to just use their surname, add the extra parameter "1" to the template link, like this:

Usage example:

{{LinkWork|Symphony No.5|Op.67|Beethoven|Ludwig van|1}}

will display:

Symphony No.5, Op.67, by Beethoven

No Composer

To leave out the composer's name completely, add the extra parameter "0" to the template link, like this:

Usage example:

{{LinkWork|Symphony No.5|Op.67|Beethoven|Ludwig van|0}}

will display:

Symphony No.5, Op.67

No Opus/Catalogue Number
