  • According to one contemporary edition, this appeared in Byrd's Psalms, Songs and Sonnets of 1611.
  • The original voicing of the song apparently had the first two parts in C1 clef, i.e. soprano, and the bottom line was C3 clef, which could be alto, contralto or tenor
