"The MacGregor's Salute" is a traditional tune for the Great Highland Bagpipe. It falls in the "classical" genre of bagpipe music, which is known as Piobaireachd (pronounced "pibroch").
This is a well known tune in the piobaireachd repertoire, and may be found in the Piobaireachd Society books (Book 10, p. 286). The present setting is functionally identical to the Piobaireachd Society setting.
This tune appears in several published and manuscript sources, including C. S. Thomason's "Ceol Mor" (Book 14, page 18),Published in 1900, under the title "The MacGregors' Gathering.
