About me:
I am a high school student planning on going to University of Toronto, St George for Computer Science in fall 2009.
Have been playing double bass since grade 10 and can sightread parts of Johann Sebastian Bach's cello suites.
My composition style is mostly improvisational and use multiple instruments (usually guitar, bass, and piano) when creating melodies. Works are notated in Finale 2009.
Not interested in lessons and use a works-for-me approach (bowing, piano posture, etc.).
Self taught in:
- Percussion: ~1 year;
- Contrabass: ~3 years (played in drop D);
- Guitar: ~2 years (CGDAEG);
- Piano: <1 year;
- Cello: <1 year (close to guitar though);
- Viola: <1 year (experience rolled over from bass);
- Composition: 1 year
Ear training:
- Tuning only: tendency to tune sharp;
- Cannot identify chords/intervals by ear
