Born in Hong Kong, Jason Liu Tsz-Shing is currently a student at St. Paul’s Co-educational College. Jason began piano lessons with Ms Alice Chan since 4 years old, and passed the Grade 8 piano exam of Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music at the age of 7. In 2009 he passed the Fellowship Diploma (FTCL) of solo piano of Trinity College London at the age of 13. He is currently studying cello with Mr William Tsui.

Since 2005, Jason has been a student of the Junior Music Programme in the Department of Composition and Electronic Music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studying with Miss Poly Ng. In 2010, he was awarded First Place in both solo composition and chamber piece categories in the 15th Pikes Peak Young Composers Competition in the United States. His orchestral work Transformation: Stages of Attaining was premiered by Millennium Youth Orchestra in the same year. He is a member of Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH).

Jason has been a member of the Hong Kong Children’s Choir since he was 4, and performed in the HKCC 35th anniversary musical Hong Kong Rocks as Siubo, one of the main roles in the musical. He also performed as solo boy soprano in the Hong Kong premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem in 2006, and in Symphonic Fantasy concert with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. He is currently a member of Concert Choir and Chamber Boys in HKCC.
