User talk:Mcmelniks

Hi Mcmelniks. Unfortunately, none of her works can be uploaded to this site unless you have permission from the estate. She died in 1976, and therefore is under copyright worldwide. You may want to read this page to get an idea of what is permissible here. Thanks, KGill talk email 19:55, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Please do not persist in uploading works by this composer. You have already been notified of the reasoning behind the deletion of the files you submitted.-- Snailey (_@/) Talk to Me Email me 15:19, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for not updating this - Mcmelniks actually has permission from the composer's estate to upload her works (confirmed via email). Thanks, KGill talk email 16:53, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I have to ask something - do you have permission from the librettists (such as Yevgeniy Dolmatovsky, d.1994) as well? If not, I'm afraid that the Childrens' Songs (and possibly Selected Romances) will have to be deleted anyway, since the text is not public domain either. Actually, since permission was presumably obtained for the original publication of these items back in the Soviet era, it would normally carry through with permission from the estate of the composer. We can at least tag them "C" for Canada and the EU. Carolus 18:28, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
