Great Job with all your contributions of Cello pieces. Keep up the good work! Generoso 14:52, 20 December 2008 (EST)

I noticed your last edit on the List of cello pieces was an addition to Cello Solo - yet the piece uploaded (Look Down Fair Moon) is not just for cello, indicated by the 15 bars of rest in the beginning. Perhaps this piece belongs elsewhere.

I'm very excited to see that the Macfarren sonata has been uploaded, though unfortunately I, like some other UK users, am currently having difficulties downloading files at the moment. As far as I was aware, this work was never published as such, and I previously only tracked down two proof copies with corrections by the composer. Can you tell me (as it may be some time before the downloads work again!) whether this is also a proof copy? Would you be prepared to say where you got it? Not to worry if not. Many thanks.

Boccherini G4

The first files on the G4 page are in the order of 1. Tempo di Minuetto 2. Adagio Cantabile and 3. Allegro moderato. Where as the second files on the page are 1. Adagio Molto 2. Allegro moderato 3. Affettuoso . Different names but almost exactly the same music in a different order. I have played the second version many times. I know it can be extremely confusing figuring out the Op. numbers and G. numbers as each editor (ie Grützmacher etc.) made different new arrangements of pieces and even stuck pieces together to form a new Sonata. As your newest score of the A Major Sonata has not yet been Tagged by a copywritereviewer I can not see what you have uploaded. I shall look at it as soon as it has passed the Public Domain reviewers. Then we can see which one in in the right place. Until then listen to this (of the G4) and compare it to your newest By the way, thanks for uploading all these great pieces for the cello!! Generoso 19:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
