Extra Information Mozart added trumpet and timpani parts to this work, possibly ca.1790. The return of the Adagio introduction during the first movement may have influenced Mozart to take a similar tack in some of his own later works, according to musicologist Manfred Schmid. (Lister, Amico : The Life of Giovanni Battista Viotti, p.170.) (Also, a slow movement in A major (written by Mozart, that is) intended to substitute for the one Viotti wrote for this concerto is noted in Mozart's composition daybook, but has been lost.)
