Probably the composer of this sonata is Christian Ludwig Hien, who is mentioned in Gerber (1790) with following entry:
"Cammervirtuose, in Diensten der Herzogin zu Württemberg 1771; rückte von seiner Arbeit eine Klaviersonate in das Bachsche Vielerlei ein,die durch ihren
galanten melodischen Charakter sehr von den übrigen abstach. Er soll sich gegenwärtig in Bayreuth befinden." ( The "Bachsche Vielerlei" is the
"Musikalisches Vielerley" C.Ph.E. Bach. We find the sonata on page 50, available via Hathi Trust).
- yep. and bigger leaps have definitely been made, with reason even. Do you mean btw the Musikalisches Vielerlei? I've heard of that... (though I admit I had to look it up, just now. But as the collection/group of collections, or journal, or something, that saw the publication of, among other things, the first printed editions of a number of CPE Bach's keyboard works, - well, "we" should actually try to digitize/reupload it just for its historical importance, it seems to me- but then again, that's a tangent and neither here nor there :) )
