Just to clear something up - I <b>do not</b> have any copies of any of the scores that I have uploaded on IMSLP (unless they are my own compositions). So if you want to ask me to send you Kurgustastavnat's 37th Piano Concerto for Solo Flute score, I simply <i>don't have</i> it any more.<br><br>

So, I am Laonikos, a creative artist and wilderness guide currently living and working in London. I'm not an active member on IMSLP anymore, though I used to help a lot around when the site was smaller, mainly uploading scores and translating stuff into Greek. That was when I was young, with no social life and a hell of a lot of free time in my hands. Now life caught up with me and I am doing things I love, so I contribute to IMSLP (and Wikipedia) significantly less than I used to (read: close to nought).<br><br>

About music, I agree passionately with Christopher Small about ''musicking'', and some of my favourite readings on music are: ''Free Play: Improvisation in Life and Art'' (Nachmanovitch, 1990); ''Music, Society, Education'' (Small, 1977); ''Musicking'' (Small, 1998); ''Engaged Passions'' (Renshaw, 2010); ''Search and Reflect'' (Stevens, 1985).<br><br>

String Quartet Nr. 3 in 3 movements (10 min. each) by Salvador Torré (Mexico)

In the String Quartet it has been practiced throughout the history of music the aspect of Laboratory of Forms, laboratory of Writings, of Methods, of Styles, of Compositional Substrates etc. using old methods arises from the canonical imitative forms counterpoint or harmony, all combined with the today languages, the infinity of music we hear today from which, for me the Rock music is very important, as well as electroacoustic practices are evident in this quartet, mixtures and super-positions of elements in a space time either compacted or expanded, micro-imitations are now a days called “delays” or “echoes”. Different distortions caused by the ways of attacking, rub, pull hitting different parts of the instrument etc. All this adding an important element today: Improvisation, the interpreter then is enrolled in a state of freedom, but because we are speaking on classical music, this classical style provides the concept of structure, it brings a certain rigorous form. This generates an open-closed form, hence the title of this quartet "Dis-continuum" in a certain way the “continuous” is due to the improvisation and the “discontinuous” is associated to the form or structure proposed in the score.

*''Adorno and Nose'' is a series of eleven songs installed as posters in bus shelter advertising spaces around the city of Vancouver. The songs are loosely structured around the theme of 'advice', as a mode of poetic address. Each poster consists of a song, notated as standard sheet music, the verse, and a drawn graphic. The songs are simple melodies, in major keys, which are accessible to anyone who has basic musical training such as high school band, lower grade piano classes, or has been an avid reader of Guitar World Magazine.<br><br>The songs are invitations to play and divertissement, whether privately: humming or singing to oneself, or publicly: singing out loud to friends or strangers. Most music we hear in public precludes our participation, except as passive listeners, and since the greater part of music in public space is being used to sell things, whether through store ambiance or radio ads, what participation we are allowed is as passive consumers. Our interest is in the kinds of specific attention that happen when some of this is stripped away, when music is lifted out of the economies within which it is normally experienced.
