Misc. Notes
  • Felix Skowronek plays these six sonatas on a wooden flute. Each sonata is played with a head-joint made of different woods:
  1. Orange Rosewood
  2. Mexican Rosewood
  3. African Blackwood (Grenadilla)
  4. Brazilian Redwood
  5. Black Ironbox
  6. Gidgee.
  • The first 4 of these were made by the Flutemaker's Guild, London; the last 2, by Skowronek himself. The first 3 sonatas used an Italian styled harpsichord, while the last 3 used a Flemish styled instrument. Realizations of the figured bass were done by Martha Goldstein. Recorded 1970.
