Christian Mondrup, the caretaker of the Werner Icking Music Archive, contacted IMSLP in August 2011 with a proposal to merge WIMA's entire collection of files into IMSLP in order to remove the dependence on the site from Mondrup himself. After more than two weeks of discussions, an agreement to proceed was finally reached.
The files on WIMA fall into three groups:
Since every file on WIMA is either a new edition, a new arrangement, or an entirely new composition, they all require their authors' permission to be posted on IMSLP. A list of WIMA contributors who have given consent to have their files transferred to IMSLP can be found here (accessible only to project members). When uploading from WIMA, be absolutely sure to use the license that the contributor has specified.
Upload systematically by contributor, not by composer or any other method of sorting. (This is to preserve maximum organization.) After you upload a file, please add an entry listing the original link to the WIMA file and the URL to the IMSLP work page it is now on at IMSLP:WIMA/Log. Follow the format of entries already present. When every file contributed by a person has been uploaded to IMSLP, please note it in the 'Completed Contributors' section at the bottom of this page.
Uploading is temporarily halted pending the resolution of two technical issues.
