While not published until 1881 (excerpts in 1879), the ms. parts were apparently in sufficient circulation to be referred to in Erk's (ca.?) 1850 book Johann Sebastian Bachs mehrstimmige Choralgesänge und geistliche Arien, Volume 1 (which mentions the "originalstimmen" as his source for his no.64 which comes from the conclusion of this cantata.) (Even the gesänge from this cantata he refers to in the book may not have been published until 1879.)
