History

Osip Ivanovich Jurgenson (1829-1910) — also known as Iosif or Josef Jurgenson — was a music seller and publisher in St. Petersburg from 1871 until his death in 1910. He was the brother of the better-known P. Jurgenson, in Moscow, and from 1880 he acted as his agent in the Russian capital. The business was later taken over by his eldest son, Arthur (1860-1920), until it was nationalized in December 1918.
